Herbs need proper airflow, controlled humidity and hydration to stay fresh; unfortunately, clamshell packages as well as plastic bags and rubber bands contribute to early spoiling. The Herb Keeper regulates water and airflow and prevents wilting and sliming so that herbs stay fresh. You add water to the bottom of the container to keep the herbs from drying out; a thoughtfully engineered lid maintains proper humidity. The Herb Keeper features a unique basket that holds herbs upright and away from side walls. The basket opens wide from its hinged center to protect herbs as you add and remove them, and has a handle that makes it easy to pull out the entire basket anytime the Greensaver needs cleaning. The Herb Keeper fits neatly on refrigerator shelves and is also narrow enough to fit on some refrigerator doors. BPA free and dishwasher safe. Not recommended for chives. Also available in a Small size, ideal for sage, rosemary, thyme, mint and more.
